The Little School program began over 45 years ago as a ministry of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. We are a co-educational, play-based preschool serving children ages two to five years old. We are licensed by the state of Louisiana and we are members of the National Association of Episcopal Schools
PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy at The Little School is that children learn through hands-on experiences in a stimulating environment. Our child-centered developmentally appropriate program encourages children to learn through exploration.
The Little School’s approach to learning aims to teach the “whole child” expanding not only their perceptual abilities, communication skills and gross and fine motor skills but also helps them to become more independent and responsible. Our primary goal is to nurture your children and create a love of learning so they become more intellectually and emotionally prepared for future academic success.
OUR EDUCATORS
The Little School has two lead teachers in each classroom. They are experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about early childhood education. Our teachers facilitate learning by creating a developmentally appropriate environment, providing a variety of materials, adequate time to explore, play, interact, and have fun! All of our teachers participate in annual continuing education and health and safety courses as well as being CPR certified.
